Samara is a tech company for all home energy management devices (EV chargers, batteries, HVACs), starting with solar. The goal is to support customers in every step of the energy projects, from the design of their solar project to the management of the energy they produce.
The challenge they want to solve
In Spain, the carbon footprint of the electrical mix is 259g CO2eq/kWh in 2022 and the prices on electricity are highly volatile, leading to a growing dissatisfaction among the population. The solar market is notably driven by an ambitious Spanish governmental action plan on solar with a favourable regulatory framework (tax exonerations, European subsidies) to encourage private individuals to produce their own energy, with a target of 1.6m of homes equipped by 2030
The impact they have
By supporting households in their energy transition through personalised services (installation of solar panels, batteries and electric vehicle chargers), Samara promotes a more efficient and sustainable model while increasing households’ purchasing power (up to 70% reduction in their electricity bills).
The way we measure it
We measure it with the number of tons of CO2 avoided as well as the number of installations made for low-income households.
